A Weekend Travel Itinerary: Knysna
There is always, always space in my life for a lazy holiday spent sitting around reading or lying on the beach tanning, but in all honesty, I'm much more of an activities holiday girl myself. If I'm exploring somewhere new (or even if I'm returning to a much-loved favourite) I love to pack my days with things to do, places to see, and lots and lots and lots to eat. Rest when you're dead, or something like that, right? So, having just returned from the most incredible weekend at The Turbine Boutique Hotel and Spa in Knysna, I’ve put together a little suggested itinerary should you be heading through to this beautiful seaside town anytime soon. Enjoy!
In the morning...
After breakfast at your wonderful hotel (have I mentioned how much I recommend The Turbine?!) hire some bicycles from The Turbine Water Club. Cycle out to Knysna Heads for the most beautiful views.
After grabbing lunch at the endlessly delicious Col’Cacchio pizzeria on the water’s edge, head back to the hotel and spend a little time with your book and/or iPod chilling in the sun at the pool – G&T recommended, but not compulsory.
Feeling pampered and relaxed, hop on board one of The Turbine’s two motorised pontoon barges and experience Knysna from the water. Booked in advance through the Water Club, it’s the best way to watch the sunset and you can order food and drinks to be stocked on board – heaven.
With flights daily to George from Johannesburg, Knysna is such a great choice for a little weekend away. Have you been to Knysna before? What are your favourite spots? I’d love to hear them so I can add them to my next trip!
